Walk and Talk Fortnightly

Sessions

Kick Start FC is delighted to announce the launch of our new fortnightly Walk and Talk sessions, providing another opportunity for people within our community to improve their wellbeing, build connections, and access support in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

As an organisation, we understand that mental wellbeing looks different for everyone. While many people benefit from participating in our Football Therapy programmes, others may prefer a more informal setting where they can enjoy gentle physical activity, connect with others, and take some time away from the pressures of everyday life.

Our Walk and Talk sessions have been created with exactly that in mind.

Research consistently shows that spending time outdoors, being physically active, and maintaining social connections can have a positive impact on both mental and physical health. Something as simple as a walk can help reduce stress, improve mood, boost confidence, and create opportunities for meaningful conversation.

The Walk and Talk sessions offer participants the chance to enjoy all of these benefits in a supportive and judgement-free environment.

Whether you're looking to meet new people, improve your wellbeing, get more active, or simply enjoy some fresh air and good company, everyone is welcome to join us.

There is no pressure to share personal experiences or discuss mental health if you don't wish to. Some people attend for the conversation, others for the exercise, and some simply enjoy being around like-minded individuals in a supportive community setting.

One of the biggest challenges many people face is social isolation and loneliness. Modern life can often leave people feeling disconnected, and it is not always easy to reach out for support.

Our Walk and Talk sessions aim to create a safe and inclusive space where people can connect naturally, build friendships, and develop a sense of belonging.

Often, conversations flow more easily when walking side by side rather than sitting face-to-face. The relaxed nature of walking can help people feel more comfortable opening up, sharing experiences, or simply enjoying the company of others without expectation or pressure.

At Kick Start FC, we believe that connection is one of the most powerful tools for improving wellbeing, and these sessions provide another opportunity for people to feel supported and valued within their community.

The sessions are open to adults of all backgrounds and abilities, regardless of whether they have previously attended a Kick Start FC programme.

No specialist equipment is required, no previous experience is needed, and there is no expectation other than to come along and enjoy the walk.

Whether you're taking your first steps towards improving your wellbeing, looking to expand your social circle, or simply wanting to spend time outdoors with others, we would love to welcome you.

The launch of our Walk and Talk sessions forms part of our ongoing commitment to making wellbeing support accessible within local communities.

Alongside our Football Therapy programmes, Mental Health Awareness Workshops, and community initiatives, these sessions provide another way for people to access support, stay active, and connect with others in a positive environment.

We know that small steps can often lead to big changes, and sometimes a simple walk and conversation can make all the difference.

We look forward to welcoming participants to our new Walk and Talk sessions and continuing to demonstrate the positive impact that community connection, physical activity, and open conversation can have on mental wellbeing.
