TESTIMONIALS
"My first session was pre-lockdown and I was a little anxious beforehand. I wanted to meet new people as I am relatively new to the local area. What I enjoy now is that it is a consistent social activity and all the guys who turn up are spot on. It's also a good opportunity to talk about mental health if I ever needed to speak out." - Oliver Ryan
"My first session was back in March time just before the lockdown period. I had seen a post advertising Kick Start FC on Facebook and thought I would give it a try. I have always enjoyed playing football and the guys who turn up are a good laugh I have enjoyed coming to the sessions. It’s also a great way to speak out if you have anything on your mind. I would totally recommend it." - Rob Yates

How do I talk about my mental health?
Putting your feelings into words is sometimes difficult. It’s perfectly normal to be worried that you might say the wrong thing or explain it badly. It’s also natural to feel anxious that your loved one or friend might think your mental health is worse than you might feel it is.
Try not to worry – talking about your mental health is incredibly important when it comes to getting the right support for you and with the right preparation the conversation can be easier than you think it might be. Here are a few tips on how to talk about your mental health.

Kick Start FC Expands Men's
Football Therapy To Andover
We are delighted to announce the launch of our Men's Football Therapy sessions in Andover, bringing out unique mental health and wellbeing support programme to a brand-new community.
We are delighted to announce the launch of our Men's Football Therapy sessions in Andover, bringing our unique mental health and wellbeing support programme to a brand-new community.
Following the success of our sessions in Tidworth, where we have supported more than 400 men to improve their mental health, wellbeing, and social connection, we are excited to expand our services and provide the same welcoming and supportive environment to men across Andover.
This expansion has been made possible thanks to the generous support of local businesses Stannah and Go Fudge Yo'self. Their commitment to supporting community wellbeing has enabled us to offer the sessions completely free of charge, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to accessing support.

Our Football Therapy programme combines physical activity, peer support, and community connection to create a positive environment where men can focus on their wellbeing.
The sessions are open to all men, regardless of football ability or experience. Whether you're looking to improve your mental health, combat loneliness, build confidence, stay active, or simply meet new people, you'll find a welcoming community waiting for you.
There is no pressure, no judgement, and no expectation to be a great footballer. Some participants join for the football, others for the social interaction and routine, but everyone benefits from being part of a supportive environment that encourages connection, wellbeing, and personal growth.
At Kick Start FC, we have seen first-hand the difference that sport can make. Our sessions help participants improve not only their physical health but also their confidence, resilience, social networks, and overall mental wellbeing.

As we establish our presence in Andover, we are excited about the future. Our long-term vision is to introduce additional opportunities within the community, including Women's Football Therapy and Walking Football Therapy sessions, ensuring that people of all ages and backgrounds can access support through sport.
We are passionate about creating inclusive, community-based programmes that help people feel connected, supported, and empowered to improve their wellbeing.
Mental health challenges can affect anyone, but nobody should have to face them alone. Through Football Therapy, we are creating opportunities for men to connect, stay active, and support one another in a positive and understanding environment.
We look forward to welcoming new participants to our Andover sessions and continuing to demonstrate how football can be a powerful tool for improving mental health, reducing isolation, and strengthening communities.
