TESTIMONIALS
"My first session was pre-lockdown and I was a little anxious beforehand. I wanted to meet new people as I am relatively new to the local area. What I enjoy now is that it is a consistent social activity and all the guys who turn up are spot on. It's also a good opportunity to talk about mental health if I ever needed to speak out." - Oliver Ryan
"My first session was back in March time just before the lockdown period. I had seen a post advertising Kick Start FC on Facebook and thought I would give it a try. I have always enjoyed playing football and the guys who turn up are a good laugh I have enjoyed coming to the sessions. It’s also a great way to speak out if you have anything on your mind. I would totally recommend it." - Rob Yates

Mixed Gender Friendly Success
Sunday 15th May 2022
Yesterday Kick Start FC invited a host of participants from their football therapy sessions to join them at the Wellington Academy in Ludgershall, Wiltshire to play in a mixed gender friendly football fixture. The aim of the game was to continue to shine a spotlight on loneliness during mental health awareness week. This was a great opportunity to bring people from all walks of life together at a time where more and more people feel lonely.
Participants from the men's, women's and walking football sessions all played their part and so did the small crowd that came along to show their support for everyone involved. There were plenty of smiles, laughter and cheers as everyone was entertained by a seven goal thriller. and were able to learn more about the Kick Start FC way of playing football.

"It is an absolute privilege to have all those involved today represent Kick Start FC in this fixture. Each person has arrived with their own story but ultimately with the same goal. To see the friendships that have formed and the smiles on peoples faces, there just isn't any words that can describe it." - Kick Start FC Founder Michael Cunningham

45% of adults feel occasionally, sometimes or often lonely in England. This equates to twenty five million people. Loneliness plays a major impact on a persons mental health and can make a person feel like they have no support or somewhere to turn too. Before kick off Kick Start FC held a minutes silence as a mark of respect for all those who have tragically taken their own lives due to feeling lonely.
If you are feeling lonely then please reach out a family member, a friend, a work colleague or you can speak to a member of the Kick Start FC team by clicking here. Alternatively their are other groups who are willing to support you and can offer professional help.
