WALKING FOOTBALL SESSIONS
Every Wednesday Evening
We host three football sessions every week that accommodates both Men and Women of all fitness levels and football abilities, aged 16 and over. Each session is designed to help participants manage symptoms of poor mental wellbeing and to offer participants social inclusion.
Do I need to be good at football or have some level of fitness to attend a football session?
We welcome all football abilities and fitness levels to our football sessions. Our sessions are not designed to be competitive, they are designed to encourage people to get active, socialise and develop confidence.
Do I need to bring anything along to the sessions?
All you need to bring along to the sessions is a bottle of water to ensure you are able to stay hydrated and appropriate footwear that you are comfortable playing football in.
Due to the current climate hand gel is provided by our team during sessions as part of the government covid-19 measures. We encourage people to help themselves before, during and after our sessions.
Our football sessions are specifically designed to offer all participants the following:
Mental Health & Wellbeing
. Encourage participants to get active to increase physical and mental fitness
. Develop a positive mindset and increase confidence levels
. Gain a sense of achievement and a lift in morale
. Mental benefits of endorphins and adrenaline
. Socialising and getting to know people
. Gaining a sense of belonging and creating a support network
. Taking your mind off things
. Opportunities to talk about your problems
What If I become anxious or fatigued during a session?
We understand that trying something new can be daunting but we work on the message that the hardest part is turning up. If during the session you need to sit out and take a break then our team member will be sure to accommodate this and support you.
Do I need to fill out a registration form to attend a football session?
There are no forms to fill out however if you wish to get involved then please contact us via email or through social media and we will discuss the next steps to take to get you involved in our sessions. It is important to understand that these sessions laid on to help those with poor mental wellbeing and not just a place to play football for free.
Are you affiliated with a football league?
We are not affiliated with any football league but we are affiliated with the Wiltshire FA. We also hold standard insurance through Bluefin Sport which allows us to participate in friendly fixtures.
