TESTIMONIALS
"My first session was pre-lockdown and I was a little anxious beforehand. I wanted to meet new people as I am relatively new to the local area. What I enjoy now is that it is a consistent social activity and all the guys who turn up are spot on. It's also a good opportunity to talk about mental health if I ever needed to speak out." - Oliver Ryan
"My first session was back in March time just before the lockdown period. I had seen a post advertising Kick Start FC on Facebook and thought I would give it a try. I have always enjoyed playing football and the guys who turn up are a good laugh I have enjoyed coming to the sessions. It’s also a great way to speak out if you have anything on your mind. I would totally recommend it." - Rob Yates

How do I talk about my mental health?
Putting your feelings into words is sometimes difficult. It’s perfectly normal to be worried that you might say the wrong thing or explain it badly. It’s also natural to feel anxious that your loved one or friend might think your mental health is worse than you might feel it is.
Try not to worry – talking about your mental health is incredibly important when it comes to getting the right support for you and with the right preparation the conversation can be easier than you think it might be. Here are a few tips on how to talk about your mental health.

65 Mile Fundraising Walk
Monday 25th May 2022
Kick Start FC are thrilled to announce that on Friday the 1st of July they will be embarking on a 65 mile walk in an attempt to raise £1000 for a brand new project.
Over the course of two days a small team of volunteers will be walking around London using 14 football grounds from the Premier League and EFL as checkpoints. This walk will be the biggest Kick Start FC challenge to date. The first day will see the team travel South Of The River walking from AFC Wimbledon and ending at West Ham United. The second day will see the team travel North Of The River from Leyton Orient and ending at the home of football, aka Wembley Stadium.
Follow the Kick Start FC social media pages for updates on the walk and for live coverage on the two days.

"It's an idea that we have been toying with for a while now and we just decided that now is the time to do it, let's go for it. Our aim is to raise £1000 for an exciting new project, but we also hope it helps raise awareness and to show that mental health has no team colours, it doesn't discriminate, it really can impact anyone no matter what football team you support" - Michael Cunningham (Kick Start FC Founder)

The money raised from this walk will be used to fund a brand new Kick Start FC project in the form of a Social Hub. The Kick Start FC Social Hub will operate on a weekly basis and offer people in the local community the opportunity to come along for a beverage and a chat, engage in wellbeing activities and immerse themselves into a safe space for a few hours.

A huge thank you to QPR, Millwall and Charlton who have agreed to allow Kick Start FC into their football stadium for checkpoint photos.
