On Friday the 1st of July a group of Kick Start FC volunteers embarked on a two day fundraising walk around London. The aim of the walk was to raise money for Kick Start FC and to raise awareness of mental health amongst the football community. Using 13 football grounds around the capital as checkpoints, the team covered a whopping 65 miles across the two days.

The journey began early Friday morning at AFC Wimbledon and ended late Saturday evening at Wembley Stadium. The group were welcomed into the stadiums by Sutton United, Arsenal and Chelsea to take pitch side photos and were offered tours of the changing rooms and media rooms.

The fatigue, bruises and blisters were worth it as the group were able to raise over £2000 for Kick Start FC but more importantly raise awareness that mental health doesn't discriminate and it can effect you no matter what football team you support. Mental health has no colours.

"We underestimated how tough the walk would be but everyone pulled together despite fatigue, blisters and injuries and we made it to Wembley. To raise more than double of our target is absolutely incredible and it means that we can put a long term plan in place to help offer people the knowledge and the tools to manager their mental health" - Michael Cunningham (Founder of Kick Start FC)
