Monday 28th March 2022

Each quarter, the Trustees of the independent broker 'The Ardonagh Group' receive applications for their Community Grant programme. The programme allows colleagues to donate up to £5000 towards a project or charity close to their hearts and connected with their local community.

The Ardonagh Group specialise in Insurance Distribution, Underwriting Services and Wholesale.

An application for Kick Start FC to be considered was put forward to the Trustees and it is with great pleasure to announce that the application for the Community Grant has been accepted.

"We want to say a massive thank you to all the Trustees at The Ardonagh Group for accepting our application and offering us a community grant. The feedback we received on top of the grant shows that they feel just as strongly about the importance of raising awareness of mental health." - Michael Cunningham (Founder of Kick Start FC)

The Community Grant will be used to help Kick Start FC tackle the mental health crisis that is occurring in teenage mental health.

. 10% of children and young people have a clinically diagnosable mental health problem, yet 70% of children and adolescents who experience mental health problems have not had appropriate interventions at a sufficiently early age.

. 76% of parents have said that their child's mental health has deteriorated while waiting for support from CAHMS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services)

. 83% of young people with mental health needs stated their mental health has worsened during the coronavirus pandemic

Kick Start FC plan to open up Football Therapy Sessions for teenagers and run workshops to help educate them on the subject of mental health.
