65 MILE FUNDRAISING WALK - LONDON

On Friday the 1st of July a group of Kick Start FC volunteers came together to embark on a two-day fundraising walk around London. Using 13 football grounds from the Premier League and EFL as checkpoints, the team covered a challenging 65 miles across the two days.

The journey began early Friday morning, starting in South London at AFC Wimbledon. From there we travelled around the capital, finishing our fundraising walk late Saturday evening at the home of football, Wembley Stadium. A handful of football clubs welcomed us into their stadiums to take pitch side photos and offered us tours of the changing rooms and media rooms.

The fatigue, bruises, blisters and tears were certainly worth it as we were able to raise over £2000. The money raised allows us to continue to provide a free service to those in our local community who struggle with their mental health. More importantly, we were able to raise awareness that mental health doesn't discriminate, and it can affect you no matter what football team you support. Mental health has no colours.

Thank you to everyone who sent us messages of support via our social media updates. Your words kept us going. Where will 2023 take us?
